No phone number, no address book upload, no ads, no tracking. The server passes on sealed messages it can't open and forgets them once they're delivered.
No phone number needed
Sign up with a username. Add people by link, QR code or username. Your number stays yours.
End-to-end encrypted
Messages, photos, voice notes, files and calls are locked on your device and only open on theirs.
Privacy rules per chat
Read receipts, "online", typing, forwarding, saving, screenshots, disappearing messages: set them for each chat. The most private setting always wins.
Hidden chats
Keep some chats in a vault behind a second PIN. They don't show in your chat list and don't notify.
Panic button and check-ins
One press records audio in encrypted pieces and alerts your trusted contacts. Miss a check-in and they're told.
Calls and group calls
Voice and video, encrypted end to end, up to 8 people on video and 32 on voice.
Channels
Follow public channels, or run an encrypted one that only people with the link can read.
Big files
Send files up to 200 MB. Bigger ones go straight between devices and never touch our server.
Straight answers
Every messenger needs to know something to deliver your messages. Here is exactly what ours can and can't see.
We can't see
- What you write, send or say on a call
- Your photos, videos, voice notes, files and stickers
- Your hidden chats, your contacts' names for you, your backups
- Where you are when you share your location
We do know
- Your username, and your display name and picture if you add them
- Which chats you're in and roughly when messages are sent, so we can deliver them
- The network address you connect from (kept short-term, for security)
- What you send to the optional AI assistant, which isn't end-to-end encrypted
